World Open: Judd Trump triumphs in China over Ding Junhui
Judd Trump defeated Ding Junhui 10–4 to win the World Open championship in China and move up to the 28th spot in the rankings.
The world number two amassed a 7-2 lead at the conclusion of the first session in Yushan with breaks of 88, 79, and 78.
After opening the evening session with a 130, the 34-year-old went on to win with 106 and 85.
Trump won the £170,000 in earnings and his sixth title of the season after defeating Ding of China.
It brought Trump’s season prize money to £1,061,000 and even the score with Steve Davis at 28 championship victories.
The only people with more titles are Ronnie O’Sullivan (41), Stephen Hendry (36), and John Higgins (31).
Additionally, Trump upheld the
World Open championship, which he had won the previous time it was held in 2019 before to the coronavirus pandemic-caused four-year break.
