Work in progress’: Club have now made a bid to sign ‘incredible’ Chelsea player, the Blues want more – Romano

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea have now received a genuine offer from Roma for them to sign Romelu Lukaku on loan this season.

He took to YouTube to claim that the Blues are still not yet satisfied with the bid they have received in order to let him leave the club this summer.

The last few weeks have not really seen much development in Lukaku’s situation at Stamford Bridge.

He is still a long way away from being part of the Chelsea squad, and Mauricio Pochettino has been getting on with his job as manager without him in the picture.

Any possibility of a permanent deal for the Belgium international has seemed to disappear. Juventus looked their best bet for this to come off.

However, they were not interested in signing Dusan Vlahovic in exchange, and therefore there was no opportunity for him to make the move back to Italy.

Chelsea want more for Lukaku

It seems he has preferred a return to this country. It was there that he was described as ‘incredible’ by teammate at the time Ashley Young.

Romano has claimed that Roma have launched their offer to sign Lukaku, but it has not yet met Chelsea’s demands

He said: “On Saturday, negotiations took place between Roma and Chelsea. The most important people from Roma are in London to negotiate directly with Chelsea. The first round of negotiations was positive. Roma offered an important loan fee, something around five million euros.

“At the moment, Chelsea want more, so the conversation continues between Roma and Chelsea. Roma are also waiting for the green light for the player, but work in progress. Roma will keep negotiating with Chelsea, and keep trying to find a solution to the problem.”

Chelsea will now just be focusing on getting rid of him ahead of this season in order to keep any disruptive figures away.
