With two weeks remaining, how the Sixers stand in the Eastern Conference standings

The Philadelphia 76ers are currently 39-35 and are in a difficult situation. Out of the last ten, they have lost seven and three in a row. With just two weeks and eight games left in the Sixers’ regular season, it’s important to keep a watch on the constantly shifting Eastern Conference Standings. Let’s examine the clubs that made the playoffs this year and those that are still in the running.

Level 1

Celtics of Boston (58-16)
All season long, Boston has been tremendously dominant. They have already secured the first spot in the East with a record of 58-16. They record 32-3 when playing at TD Garden. When the playoffs roll around, Boston will be the overwhelming favorite to represent the East in the NBA Finals.

Level 2

2. Bucks of Milwaukee (46–27)

3. The Cavaliers of Cleveland (45–29)

4. The 44-29 New York Knicks

Come playoff time, all three of these tier 2 teams hope to make an impression. Jalen Brunson recently put up a 61-point effort against the San Antonio Spurs and is averaging around 28 points per game. The Cleveland Cavaliers, who are now ranked third, are only 0.5 games behind the Knicks. Not only will all three of these teams avoid the play-in round of the Eastern Conference, but they also have a good chance of securing home-court advantage in the opening round of the playoffs.

Level Three

5. Magic Orlando (42-31)

6. The 42-33 Indiana Pacers

7. Heat of Miami (40-33)

8. 39-35 Philadelphia 76ers

Two of these four clubs will advance to the play-in round. To be honest, the likelihood that the Sixers will participate in the play-in game is growing as the NBA regular season comes to a finish. The Sixers are now 2.5 games behind the Indiana Pacers in the battle for the crucial sixth seed. The team ranked sixth not only avoids the play-in round, but also the Boston Celtics. They escape not just the Boston Celtics in the opening round but possibly even a second round matchup. If the playoffs began today, Philadelphia would play the Heat in Miami, with the winner securing the 7-seed and the loser receiving A home game for the 8-seed in the playoffs versus the victor of the 9-10 matchup.

The significance of a potential matchup with the 7-seed is increased due to the Boston Celtics’ supremacy. You really don’t want to play the Celtics in the first round of the playoffs, even though the Sixers may just be hoping to qualify at this point.

The Sixers need to put together a winning streak in order to secure the 7-seed at the end of the regular season, even though they still have a chance to avoid the play-in round. A win-and-in game in Miami is not nearly as good as a “win and you’re in” situation at home.

Level Four

9. Bulls of Chicago (35–39)

10. Hawks of Atlanta (34–39)

The 9–10 matchup for the play-in tournament is almost decided. Which team will finish ninth and enjoy home-court advantage is the only unanswered question. The Atlanta Hawks have defeated the Boston Celtics twice in a row, making it four straight victories.
