Wildcat Royalty Welcomes a New Star: Harrison Twins Roll Out the Red Carpet for Jaland Lowe

Brotherhood Beyond the Court: Harrison Twins Help Bring Rising Star Jaland Lowe to Kentucky

The Big Blue Nation is buzzing — and it’s not just because of a promising new addition to the Wildcats roster. It’s about legacy, mentorship, and the powerful pull of Kentucky basketball’s rich tradition.

Jaland Lowe, a standout transfer from Pittsburgh and one of the most exciting young point guards in the game, has officially committed to the University of Kentucky. But this wasn’t just a recruiting win — it was a homecoming years in the making.

Behind the scenes, two of the most beloved Kentucky alumni — Aaron and Andrew Harrison — helped pave the path that led Lowe to Lexington. Their influence wasn’t just from highlight reels or championship memories — it was personal.

“I’ve known Jaland since he was literally a baby,” Aaron Harrison told KSR’s Jack Pilgrim. “From a distance, of course — he’s a lot younger than me — but we’re both from Houston, and I’ve watched his journey through the AAU circuit. His family breathes basketball.”

The bond runs deep. Lowe grew up looking up to players like the Harrison twins, who took the college basketball world by storm under Coach John Calipari between 2013 and 2015. Now, the same brothers who once hit clutch shots in March Madness are opening doors and offering guidance to the next generation.

Aaron Harrison, now a veteran of the professional basketball world, is ready to be a mentor.
“I’m proud of him,” he said. “I’ll give him any advice he ever needs. Kentucky is a special place — not everyone gets to feel that kind of support.”

And with the Wildcats entering a new era under head coach Mark Pope, Lowe’s arrival is seen as a foundational piece of that rebuild. Talented, focused, and now backed by two Wildcat legends, the young guard has all the tools — and all the backing — to make his mark.

The Harrison twins may have hung up their Kentucky jerseys, but their impact on the program continues. For Jaland Lowe, that legacy just became part of his own story.
