Who is competing in the new $1 million Riyadh Season World Masters of Snooker event?
The World Masters of Snooker—Riyadh Season—will feature ten players.

Two wild cards and the top eight snooker players in the world as of February 25, 2024, when the Players Championship ends, will square off.

The top eight players competing in the competition are Luca Brecel, Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump, Mark Allen, Mark Selby, Shaun Murphy, Mark Williams, and Ali Carter.

The standard World Snooker rules will apply to the matches at Riyadh’s Boulevard Arena, with one notable exception: the use of a golden ball.

If a player is on pace to break the maximum break of 147, they can only pot the golden ball, also called the Riyadh Season ball, after all other balls have been successfully removed from the table. The golden ball is worth 20 points.

Player Allen posted on Instagram after having a conversation with fans over the golden ball: “We’ve been told it’s going in the middle of the baulk cushion.” When a 147 can no longer be achieved in a frame, it will be eliminated.

If it is moved lawfully within the frame, it remains where it ends.”
