UNC Remains Strong Contender for 2026 Four-Star Wing Cole Cloer
The UNC basketball program continues to be viewed as one of the top contenders in the recruitment of Cole Cloer, a highly touted small forward from Caldwell Academy in North Carolina.
While Cloer has not yet scheduled an official visit to Chapel Hill, multiple recruiting insiders still consider the Tar Heels among the frontrunners for the in-state star. Cloer recently locked in official visits to two other top programs: he’ll head to national champion Florida on September 6 and then to Alabama on October 18.
Despite no official trip to UNC on the calendar, the 6-foot-7, 185-pound standout has a longstanding connection with the Tar Heels. He received an offer from Hubert Davis and his staff over a year ago and has made several unofficial visits to campus since then, giving him a strong familiarity with the program.
Currently ranked No. 33 overall in the 2026 class by the 247Sports Composite, Cloer is the No. 14 small forward in the nation and the top-rated rising senior in North Carolina. Known for his scoring ability and versatility on the wing, he remains a top priority target for UNC as they continue building their future roster.
