Transfer from Kansas Rylan Griffen arranges a trip to Kentucky.

Mark Pope and his coaching staff are working to finalize the Kentucky Wildcats’ roster for the 2025-26 season, with only a few spots left to fill.

Despite landing several transfers, one area that still appears to need improvement is perimeter shooting—something Big Blue Nation was eager to address, especially after missing out on Lamar Wilkerson, who chose Indiana.

Now, a new name has emerged as a possible solution.

According to On3’s Joe Tipton, Kansas transfer Rylan Griffen is scheduled to visit Lexington on Tuesday. The 6-foot-6, 190-pound guard from Dallas started his college career at Alabama before spending last season with the Jayhawks. It was a difficult year overall for Kansas, and Griffen’s production dipped compared to his previous campaign in Tuscaloosa.

Still, Griffen brings value as a career 35% shooter from beyond the arc. His breakout year came during the 2023-24 season at Alabama, where he shot nearly 40% from three in Nate Oats’ offense. Pope and his staff may believe that version of Griffen is closer to his true potential, rather than what he showed at Kansas.

With the final roster spots quickly being filled, Griffen is definitely a name to keep an eye on. His visit could be a key step in boosting Kentucky’s shooting depth—stay tuned as this situation unfolds.
