The new wave of incoming freshmen is already making headlines following the end of the 2024-25 college basketball season.
Top recruits like AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, and Cameron Boozer are drawing major attention as they prepare to step into the spotlight.
Cameron Boozer, ranked No. 3 nationally, is committed to the Duke Blue Devils, joining a freshman class that also includes his brother, four-star recruit Cayden Boozer, and five-star prospect Nikolas Khamenia.
Recently, Khamenia posted several photos on social media with an inspiring caption:
“I had a purpose before anyone else had an opinion,” he wrote.
Cameron Boozer showed support for his future teammate by replying, “W caption.”
In the 2025 high school recruiting rankings by 247Sports, Cameron Boozer trails just behind Dybantsa and Peterson, sitting at No. 3. Meanwhile, Khamenia is ranked No. 15, and Cayden Boozer comes in at No. 24.
All three are set to join one of college basketball’s most storied programs, led by head coach Jon Scheyer.
Duke wrapped up this past season with an impressive 35-4 record, reaching the Final Four before falling to Houston.
The Blue Devils’ success was fueled by a standout freshman trio: Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, and Khaman Maluach.
While it’s too soon to say if the Boozers and Khamenia will replicate that level of success, Scheyer can expect Duke’s incoming freshmen to make a quick and meaningful impact.
