The Seekers lead singer Judith Durham’s closest friends and family reminisce about her life.
Keith Potger is reminded of Judith Durham’s strength and generosity.
Potger, who was one of the original members of The Seekers, performed and toured with Durham as the band’s front woman for the majority of the 1960s.
The artists experienced many bizarre situations together, such as dethroning the Beatles from the top spot in the UK charts and playing to raucous audiences.
However, Potger most recalls Durham’s advocacy efforts while thinking back on her life following her 79th birthday.
Durham devoted her life to raising funds and awareness to combat motor neurone disease following the death of her husband, Ron Edgeworth, from the degenerative condition in 1994.
“It made quite a difference to the awareness of that issue, and to see her unfailingly help to raise funds… that was quite remarkable in her generosity of spirit,” Potger said on ABC Radio Melbourne.
People all throughout the world will always remember Durham for her generosity, unique voice, and musical contributions.
