The incoming freshman class for college basketball has been generating a lot of buzz following the conclusion of the 2024-25 season. New faces like AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, and Cameron Boozer are the center of attention as they prepare to make their mark on the sport.
Cameron Boozer, ranked No. 3 in the nation, is set to join the Duke Blue Devils, along with his brother, four-star recruit Cayden Boozer, and five-star prospect Nikolas Khamenia.
Over the weekend, Khamenia posted some photos on social media with an inspiring caption: “I had a purpose before anyone else had an opinion.”
Cameron Boozer responded, acknowledging his future teammate and Duke commitment with a simple compliment: “W caption.”
Cameron Boozer comes in just behind Dybantsa and Peterson at No. 3 in the 2025 recruiting class, while Khamenia is ranked No. 15 overall and Cayden Boozer sits at No. 24, according to 247Sports.
These talented prospects will join one of the most renowned basketball programs in the country, coached by Jon Scheyer. Duke finished the season with a 35-4 record, advancing to the Final Four before falling to Houston. The Blue Devils were led by a standout freshman trio of Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, and Khaman Maluach.
While it’s uncertain if the Boozers and Khamenia can replicate the same level of success, Scheyer is likely expecting an immediate impact from this impressive freshman class.
