The Duke basketball team is moving on and is currently visiting the Blue Devils.

**Duke Emerging as Favorite for Four-Star Forward Braydon Hawthorne**

Duke basketball is quickly positioning itself as the leading contender to land rising four-star recruit Braydon Hawthorne.

In its search for a versatile forward to round out Jon Scheyer’s fourth roster, the Blue Devils began showing interest in the 6-foot-8, 190-pound Huntington Prep (W\.Va.) standout just a few weeks ago. Since then, the coaching staff has visited Hawthorne and hosted him on an official visit to Durham starting Friday.

Duke now appears to be in pole position to secure his commitment—just as Hawthorne’s recruiting stock continues to climb.

Although he’s currently ranked No. 105 in the 247Sports Composite for the 2025 class, that’s a massive leap of 142 spots since December. 247Sports’ independent rankings place him at No. 71, while On3 has him all the way up at No. 35—making him the third-highest ranked uncommitted player in the class.

Previously committed to West Virginia, Hawthorne reopened his recruitment in late March and has since taken visits to Pitt, Kentucky, and Virginia Tech.

Adding Hawthorne would bolster an already impressive 2025 Duke recruiting class that includes three five-star prospects: forward Nikolas Khamenia from Harvard-Westlake (CA) and the twin duo of Cameron and Cayden Boozer from Columbus High School (FL). These future Blue Devils are expected to join a core of returning players and likely some high-impact transfers.
