Representatives from Chelsea’s owners Clearlake are at the Strasbourg game today, watching their new acquisition for their “BlueCo” group of clubs play Toulouse.
Because of that, Strasbourg fans at the stadium have raised a banner protesting the fact that their team has been effectively turned into a Ligue 1 feeder team for Chelsea.
We can see their point – they want to be a club in their own right, not a satellite to a bigger team.
Sure it can bring them better players, money and success, but what’s that worth if it’s not on your own terms?
