Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that he has not spoke to troublesome striker Romelu Lukaku as his future still remains up in the air.
Lukaku has not been in any of Pochettino’s squads since he took charge earlier in the summer, and he has not even been training with the first team group under Pochettino.
Lukaku spent last season on loan at Inter Milan and I think it’s clear that is where he would have loved to return to. But that move hasn’t happened and Inter do not want to do a deal to sign him. Then there was Juventus who still seem like they might be an option for Lukaku but nothing has yet to transpire there either.
So where else could he go?
Well, reporter Ben Jacobs suggests that Chelsea will encourage Lukaku to go to Saudi Arabia if a move to Italy does not come about.
Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT: “Romelu Lukaku will be encouraged to go to Saudi Arabia if no European club comes in for him and agrees a deal with Chelsea between now and when the window shuts. And that’s the advantage of the Saudi top flight window, it doesn’t close until September 7.”
