Reminiscent of 2008? Eddie House addresses the Celtics’ eighth consecutive victory.
Eddie House is familiar with the appearance of a Boston championship squad. Even though the Celtics in 2023–24 still have a ways to go, he is adamant that they are headed in the right direction.
At Madison Square Garden on Saturday night, the C’s defeated the New York Knicks 116-102 to win their eighth straight game. In yet another outstanding all-around effort, they scored in double figures with six players, shot nearly 60% from the field, and had eight steals.
The Celtics answered with a 10-0 run to seal the victory, demonstrating their growth after struggling to win games in previous seasons. The Knicks momentarily trimmed Boston’s advantage to single digits in the fourth quarter. House commended the group’s capacity to “transform into
Do you recall the times when we used to worry that we were going to blow this again? On NBC Sports Boston’s Celtics Postgame Live, House stated, “We don’t have to worry about that anymore.” “…we must first strengthen our defense. We execute after we receive stops, recover, and end the possession on a rebound.”
With the arrival of Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis—who ESPN color analyst JJ Redick referred to as “cheat codes” during the broadcast on Saturday—Boston’s offensive execution has advanced significantly. House agrees with the assessment of the former NBA shooter.

“Everything was perfectly spaced. We succeeded in swinging the ball by utilizing each mismatch we had. What was the number of wide-open threes we scored?”
The Celtics have the best record in the league by a full five games and are the only team in the NBA to rank in the top three in both offensive and defensive ratings (first and third, respectively). So, might this be the most dominant C’s club since House’s NBA-winning Celtics team from 2007–08?
House implied as much without actually saying it.
In my opinion, this squad is playing the best it has in a long time on the court right now, according to House. “One of the best Celtics teams—I don’t want to mention when was the last time I saw them play. However, this is among the best Celtics teams I’ve seen play in a long time. And this is undoubtedly one of those teams when it comes to legitimate championship possibilities.”
The real test will come in April, May, and (perhaps) June because Boston has failed to reach its ultimate objective in each of the last two seasons despite winning more than 50 games in each. Yet with a sample size of 57 games
