RB Leipzig is contemplating a new offer for Fabio Carvalho despite having their initial offer rejected by Liverpool, who ruled out any possibility of a deal.
The future of Carvalho, an attacking midfielder, has become one of the most talked-about topics at Anfield so far this summer.
That includes a long-term offer from RB Leipzig, who won the DFB-Pokal final on Saturday and finished third in the Bundesliga, qualifying for the Champions League.
Leipzig’s offer was turned down; insiders called it “derisory,” and Merseyside journalists have been informed that the player is not up for sale.
That hasn’t stopped rumors, though; according to Football Insider’s David Lynch, the German club is expected to make a new offer.
According to Lynch, their initial offer was “in excess” of $10 million, which would only have represented a little profit over the £7.7 million deal reached with Fulham a year earlier.
Brentford, Burnley, and West Ham are some of the interested parties, and Liverpool would “prefer to sanction a season-long loan deal,” but Carvalho is claimed to find “little appeal” in that.
The 20-year-old allegedly “wants to move,” and a buy-back clause might be put into any transaction, it is said.
If Carvalho were to progress the way Liverpool anticipates at another club, they would be able to re-sign him for a predetermined sum.
At this point, the possibility of following in the footsteps of players like Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho by settling in the Bundesliga is viewed as a “more attractive option” for the player.
Leipzig is known for being a selling club, but recent agreements for Benjamin Sesko (€24 million), Timo Werner (€20 million), David Raum (€26 million), and Andre Silva (€23 million) show that they are now willing to pay high prices for players.
Given these early attempts to relocate, it appears likely that Carvalho will eventually depart Liverpool.
