Prior to the freshman season, a five-star Duke commit responds to a significant announcement.

The Duke Blue Devils wrapped up another strong season under head coach Jon Scheyer and his staff.

Duke made a deep run in the NCAA Tournament, notching wins over Mount St. Mary’s, Baylor, Arizona, and Alabama before falling to Houston in the Final Four—just short of a national championship appearance.

As Scheyer turns the page and prepares for another potential Final Four run, the next group of talented recruits is set to arrive on campus. Among them is elite prospect Nikolas Khamenia, who recently earned the No. 15 overall spot and No. 3 small forward ranking in 247Sports’ final 2025 rankings.

Following the announcement, Khamenia reacted with a simple message: “Blessings.”

He just concluded his high school career at Harvard-Westlake and now joins a loaded Duke recruiting class that includes five-star forward Cameron Boozer and four-star guard Cayden Boozer. Before committing to Duke, Khamenia drew offers from several top-tier programs, including North Carolina, Arizona, UCLA, and Gonzaga.

The Blue Devils finished the season with a 35-4 record, capturing the ACC Tournament title behind standout freshmen Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, and Khaman Maluach.

Now, Khamenia and his fellow newcomers are aiming to keep that momentum going and push Duke toward another Final Four appearance.
