Chelsea defender Malo Gusto has been spotted in training again with the club ahead of Sunday’s Premier League game against Bournemouth.
The 5th Stand posted pictures of training sessions that saw a number of the first team players take part in their first session after representing their various countries.
Gusto was one of those who jetted off to feature, with him playing his minutes as part of a strong France U21 side.
He registered an assist to former transfer target Bradley Barcola, continuing to show his attacking capabilities that he was no doubt signed for.
The January signing, who was loaned back to Lyon for the remainder of last season, has been thrown in to the starting XI at Chelsea a lot earlier than he perhaps will have expected.
After just one game this season, Reece James was ruled out for a number of weeks due to another injury.
Gusto spotted training
This saw Gusto become the first choice right-back for the next three league fixtures, and he has certainly proven like he will be able to compete with the England international even if he is fit.
The player himself has labelled himself as ‘powerful’ and his abilities going forward have certainly shown that he falls under this label.
There were fears that he may not be at 100% right now though after pictures emerged of him having heavy strapping on his leg.
With James still likely not to return in time for Sunday’s Premier League game against Bournemouth, there may have been real worries that the Blues would have to do some serious shuffling.
However, with him being spotted back on the grass straight away does suggest that he is fit and ready to feature.
