Pit Lane Conversation with Davide Tardozzi and Marc Marquez revealed
Marc Marquez received strong accolades from Ducati management following his best MotoGP finish with the team at Jerez.
In the final moments, the eight-time world champion battled fiercely with Francesco Bagnaia, ultimately succumbing to the latter.
Although Marquez understood he would have less opportunities to pass the two-time world champion when riding alone, he still had a faster racing speed when riding alone, so it would be important to make a move early on.
However, Marquez observed that Bagnaia answered right away at turn 10, despite his two attempts to grab the lead at turn nine.
Davide Tardozzi was heard remarking to Marquez, “What a race, congratulations!” following the race in which he and Bagnaia reconnected.
Marquez: “It’s going to cost you to get me new leathers [laughs].” The invoice will be sent to you by Nadia Padovani.
“You put on a great shot, honestly,” Tardozzi said to Bagnaia, “but fighting against an eight-time world champion is tough.”
Marquez: “As you can see, I’ll go for it if I’m up there.”
“You don’t say [laughs],” said Tardozzi.
“People were asking me if you’re happy,” said Tardozzi.
“Not at all,” says Marquez.
After the race, Marquez talked with Nadia Padovani, the owner of the Gresini team, in the parc ferme, still buzzing from the fight.
Marquez stated: “I was stiff during the first few laps.” Because of my crash yesterday, I felt tense.
Padovani: “The initial effort to overcome…
Marquez: “On the second attempt to overtake, he braked later.” It was the sole location I could attempt.
“We were staying there [second place], stay there,” said Padovani.
Marquez: “But I had to make an effort to get out of here. I made an effort. However, the pace was outstanding today. The pace on the bike by itself was excellent.
