The longstanding Cincinnati Reds legend, now 77, is reportedly battling with a variety of physical difficulties, according to a filing that was made public on Friday, according to TMZ Sports.
According to the petition, “[Rose] is currently disabled and can barely walk or travel.” “His health is deteriorating and [he] has a heart condition and [is] on blood thinners.”
“I am in poor health and disabled, and have trouble walking,” Rose stated.
The 1973 NL MVP, three-time World Series champion, and 17-time All-Star said that he lost over $550,000 in earnings in the previous year, bringing his total to $453,000.
According to TMZ Sports, Rose is making an effort to prevent his wife from receiving spousal support and is pressuring him to pay for the divorce’s legal expenses.
In 1989, the native of Cincinnati faced a lifelong ban for placing baseball wagers. Commissioner Rob Manfred rejected his 2015 bid to be reinstated and pave the way for a possible Hall of Fame career.
In 2016, Rose became a member of the Reds Hall of Fame.
