Officially, Cooper Flagg is a Dallas Maverick.

Fantastic news for a team in need of a makeover and a highly promising player.
Cooper Flagg’s first professional contract was signed with the Dallas Mavericks, the team announced Wednesday. According to the rookie scale, he should earn $62.7 million over the following four years, with the first two years guaranteed by the NBA-players union CBA. However, the conditions were not disclosed.
As you can see in the photo attached to this post, he is no longer wearing #2. Flagg wore #32, but because Christian Laettner’s number was retired when his stellar career ended, it is evident that Duke does not allow that one. Dwight Howard and Jermaine O’Neal are the most recent NBA players to comment on Flagg. Howard reminds O’Neal that he’s only eighteen and has time to develop, even though he feels he needs to improve his shooting, which he has already done.

In the meantime, Flagg, who Dallas intends to run at point guard, will face Bronny James, who seems eager to move past the circus of the previous season and simply play some ball, when the Lakers visit Dallas in summer league play next week. For both of them, it will be an intriguing challenge.
