Calvin Ramsay, a defender for Liverpool, has agreed to sign a loan agreement with Preston North End for the 2023–24 campaign.
The right-back, who joined the Reds from Aberdeen of the Scottish Premiership last summer, is expected to spend the upcoming season with the Championship team.
Ramsay only made two first-team appearances for Jürgen Klopp’s club last season due to injuries; his debut came as a substitute against Napoli in the Champions League match at Anfield. Ramsay’s 2022–23 season was cut short in February as he underwent knee surgery.
In November of last year, the No. 22, who will turn 20 in July, earned his first senior cap for Scotland. He also scored three goals in six games for Liverpool’s U21 team.
Ramsay was previously recognized as the Young Player of the Year for 2021–2022 by the Scottish Football Writers’ Association.
Preston are managed by Ryan Lowe and finished 12th in the Championship last term.
