Moises Caicedo played an important role in convincing Romeo Lavia to join him at Chelsea this summer.
That is according to a report from The Athletic.
Chelsea have been extremely busy in this summer’s transfer window, which has included a complete rebuild of the midfield area.
Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia completed moves to Stamford Bridge this month from Brighton and Southampton, respectively.
The Blues completed a British-record transfer of £115million (Sky Sports) to sign Caicedo. Meanwhile, Lavia has cost a sizeable £58million (Sky Sports) sum.
The young midfielders will bring a new energy and quality in the centre of the park for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
It turns out Caicedo, 21, did some great work off the pitch early into his Chelsea career by speaking with Lavia.
Hopefully, the duo can slot effortlessly into the Blues midfield alongside Enzo Fernandez.
Lavia’s signing may have gone slightly under the radar because he’s not cost a record fee, but Chelsea have shown huge faith in the teenager to prize him away from St Mary’s.
The 19-yaer-old Belgian is an aggressive defensive midfield that is making quiet a leap into the Blues first team
