Mazzulla Joe and Kornet Luke Give a Sam Hauser update.

After receiving an elbow to the face on Thursday, Sam Hauser left the game against the Bulls. He never showed back.

In the first game after the All-Star break, Sam Hauser of the Boston Celtics was having a productive night.

The six-foot-eight sharpshooter finished with a 3/3 shot, two made threes, and eight points. In addition, he blocked Andre Drummond, earned stops against DeMar DeRozan, and had a plus-six plus-minus rating.

But 35 seconds after he scored from the left wing, the third-year forward unintentionally took a teammate Luke Kornet’s elbow to the face.

Hauser did not rejoin the game because he had a welt over his eye.

Following the Chicago Bulls’ 129–112 defeat of the Boston Celtics in the Windy City, Joe Mazzulla said of the Wisconsin native, “good.”

In addition, Kornet talked about the incident, which was caught on camera by CLNS Media. Kornet had a good game, scoring ten points and grabbing four offensive rebounds to help Boston increase its NBA-leading record to 44-12.

He is doing fine. I gave him a strong hit. I felt horrible about it immediately after, thinking, “That was not good. I think I got kind of pushed into him.”

The seven-two center went on, It seemed as though he might be struck unconscious or something. Thus, I’m relieved he’s okay. Although there is some swelling in his eye, he is otherwise well.”
