Former Duke standout Paolo Banchero has signed an extension, suggesting that Orlando is not one of those teams that drafts players who are eager to go.
Additionally, he signed a rookie extension with a five-year maximum that could total up to $287 million, making it a pretty lucrative deal. That’s a lot of Disney World visits. Naturally, Banchero is thrilled, but the Magic rarely retain outstanding players. They can now build around him and have their cornerstone for a very long time. Banchero is also an exceptionally talented basketball player, as we have witnessed when he was a Duke student. He’s the kind of guy you can assemble a winning team around, and now that he’s committed for six years, Orlando can assemble a squad around him when he’s at his best. The future is bright.
