Before the transfer window closes at the end of August, Liverpool needs to find at least a couple more signings having already brought in both Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai to Anfield.
Jürgen Klopp confirmed that more additions were on their way over the weekend while sporting director Jörg Schmadtke has been busy working on deals along with the Reds’ recruitment team.
The biggest priority, for now, is a holding midfielder to replace Fabinho, though Jordan Henderson is also expected to move to Saudi Arabia imminently. Signing someone who can slot straight in at the base of the Reds’ midfield will be vital.
After that, though, the need for another center-back to be signed remains. Liverpool is set to lose Joël Matip at the end of his contract next summer and before the need gets severe, should be seeking reinforcements.
Last season, there were too many poor defensive showings and Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté, as good as they are, simply cannot play every minute of every game.
