German reports have emerged suggesting Borussia Monchengladbach forward Manu Kone is “unlikely” to join Liverpool.

Elsewhere, Bayern Munich full-back Benjamin Pavard is also linked with a Merseyside move. The Frenchman has enjoyed four stellar years at the Bavarian outfit but has reportedly told Munich chiefs he wants out.

 

Khephren Thuram to Liverpool: ‘Talks continue’

The transfer window is very much in full swing, despite not opening for another couple of days, but the rumour mill continues to churn out speculation.

 

Yesterday, it was reported by Get French Football News that talks between Liverpool and Khephren Thuram over finding an agreement on personal terms

They claim that the Reds demonstrated themselves to be very convincing in the eyes of the 22-year-old midfielder. Two initial meetings occurred and were “fundamentally negative” for Liverpool it has bee suggested.

 

Nice are currently showing “little to no interest in meaningfully engaging negotiations”, but they caveat that by saying things could change “should the player formally ask” to leave.

Liverpool-linked defender spotted

Liverpool have been mooted with a move for Benjamin Pavard in recent days as his time at Bayern Munich appears to be over.

 

The Frenchman is in his homeland at Roland Garros for the French Open final between Novak Djokovic and Casper Ruud. International teammates Olivier Giroud and Theo Hernandez are alongside him.

Gerrard ‘approached’ by Middle Eastern club

Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard has reportedly been approached by Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq.

 

According to L’Equipe, the former midfielder has welcomed the offer and is said to be taking time to consider it. In recent weeks, Gerrard has been linked with the vacant posts at recently relegated Leicester City and Leeds United.

 

He has been out of the dugout since he was sacked by Aston Villa in October.

Veiga speaks out on Celta future

Celta Vigo star Gabri Veiga has addressed speculation over his future at his boyhood club.

 

Liverpool have emerged as a potential destination for the 21-year-old in recent weeks, with a recent report suggesting Klopp’s side are ‘firm favourites’ to win the race for Veiga ahead of Newcastle United.

Currently preparing to represent Spain in the U21s Euros, the youngster was asked to clarify his future and told SPORT: “It was a spectacular season, what I did is a dream, and in the club of my life, and I’m happy about it. Right now I don’t think about the future, the present is the national team, the only thing I can say is that I go through the European Championship and then win it.”
