Liverpool remain in top spot as Manchester United miss chance and Man City don’t come close

Despite without winning any big trophies this year, Liverpool still leads the way in that category.

Yesterday afternoon, as Manchester City and Manchester United squared off in the FA Cup final, Liverpool fans could only watch on in pain.

With the victory, City won their second title of the 2022–23 campaign. Pep Guardiola’s team will take on Inter Milan in the Champions League the following weekend in hopes of completing the trifecta.

Jurgen Klopp’s team failed to win any of the competitions this season after winning two awards previous term, but they will be hopeful of recovering to contend for the top awards the following year.

Even though City has won more trophies under Pep Guardiola’s leadership, the Sky Blues have won half as many major championships as Liverpool in their club’s history. United, who are the team that is most likely to catch the Reds in this category, squandered a chance to increase their total on Saturday at Wembley.
