Eredivisie title-holders Feyenoord are interested in signing Liverpool centre-back and Leeds United transfer target Nat Phillips.
The Whites are on the hunt for signings to bolster the squad under imminently announced manager Daniel Farke.
Leeds’ defence has come under intense scrutiny after a shocking end to their time in the Premier League, shipping goals left, right and centre.
Nat Phillips to Leeds?
Phil Hay revealed recently that the club were setting their sights on signing Liverpool centre-back Nat Phillips, who looks to be available for around £10million.
Phillips is unlikely to feature much for Liverpool after falling down the pecking order, having featured prominently in 20/21 thanks to major injury issues.
The 26-year-old was a previous target for Daniel Farke during his time at Norwich City, suggesting there might still be some admiration there for the defender.
Feyenoord to pip Leeds?
The Athletic’s James Pearce has now shared that Feyenoord have entered the race for the 26-year-old, with the Reds’ valuation still at eight figures.
Arne Slot’s side are said to be an attractive option for the defender, given that they will be offering Champions League football for next season after winning the Eredivisie title.
The centre-back is contracted until 2025 and is yet to be subject to a formal approach from the Dutch outfit.
Would you be happy with Nat Phillips?
Phillips would be a very good signing for us in the centre-back department, but if we are forced into paying £10million, then we need to be looking elsewhere.
We can’t justify spending that much on someone who does have weaknesses to his game, but if we were able to pip Feyenoord and slash that asking price, then I’d be happy.
I just don’t see it happening because Slot’s side are playing brilliant football and are playing in the Champions League next term.
