Kimani Hamilton is drawing interest from a number of Division I programs, including Kentucky.
The Wildcats have already been busy in the transfer portal, securing several commitments for Mark Pope’s second year in Lexington, but they’re not finished yet. With some roster spots still open, particularly in the backcourt, Kentucky is looking to add more depth and production.
Pope’s 2025 recruiting class is shaping up well, highlighted by 5-star guard Jasper Johnson—his first top-tier commit at Kentucky—and highly-rated 4-star forward Malachi Moreno. On the transfer front, the Wildcats have already landed Mo Dioubate, Kam Williams, Jaland Lowe, Jayden Quaintance, and Croatian forward Andrija Jelavic.
One emerging name to keep an eye on is High Point transfer Kimani Hamilton. Kentucky has reached out to the 6-foot-7 forward, along with several other top programs. A Clinton, Mississippi native, Hamilton spent his freshman year at Mississippi State before transferring to High Point, where he blossomed into a key player.
This past season, Hamilton started all 35 games and shot a career-high 52% from the field. While his outside shooting isn’t his strongest asset (32.2% from three), he brings solid versatility, averaging 13.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game as a junior. His efforts helped lead High Point to an NCAA Tournament appearance.
