Kentucky found its next point guard with the assistance of two former Wildcats.

Here’s some news Kentucky fans will definitely enjoy

The Wildcats have secured their point guard for the upcoming season, with Pittsburgh transfer Jaland Lowe set to suit up in Lexington. And it seems like two beloved former UK stars may have played a key role in making it happen.

Lowe’s father, Marland Lowe, has long been involved in Houston’s grassroots basketball scene, helping guide players to the next level, including the NBA. During a recent chat on WLAP’s Sunday Morning Sports, Marland revealed that conversations with De’Aaron Fox and Aaron Harrison were influential in Jaland’s decision.

Marland shared that Fox spoke positively about his time in Lexington:

“He talked about his experience at Kentucky, how incredible the fan support was, and what being part of BBN meant. He even joked and said, ‘One day, this might be the kind of experience you want.’”

Then, Aaron Harrison, a Houston native himself, offered further encouragement:

“He told us it’s like nothing you’ve ever seen. The fans are incredible—they live and breathe basketball. He said the whole experience is something special and to be ready for it because it’s real.”

It’s a great sign that former Calipari-era standouts are still speaking so highly of the program. Now, fans can look forward to seeing if Jaland Lowe can add his name to the long list of Wildcats who’ve gone on to NBA success.
