Liverpool are expected to be busy in the transfer market this summer and are wasting no time adding further to Jurgen Klopp’s options after sealing a deal for Brighton playmaker Alexis Mac Allister.
Liverpool are aiming to bring in another two midfielders this summer even after they sign Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton.
The Reds are closing in on a deal for the Argentine playmaker and it only seems a matter of time before he arrives on Merseyside. He will become the club’s first signing of what is expected to be an extremely busy summer for new sporting director Jorg Schmadtke.
Liverpool are not resting on their laurels though, with the next stage of their rebuild already in the planning. With the likes of James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and Arthur Melo all leaving this summer, the Reds needed desperate investment in midfield
Mac Allister will certainly add to the club’s options but there could be more. According to Mail Online, Jurgen Klopp wants at least two more midfielders – one being more of a defensive influence.
Talks have reportedly commenced with the representatives of Borussia Monchengladbach star Manu Kone. A deal could potentially be slightly easier to facilitate with Schmadtke’s son Nils recently securing a recruitment consultancy role with the German side.
There are a few more options being considered though. Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram has been scouted, whilst recently-relegated Southampton star Romeo Lavia has been discussed by the Reds’ hierarchy. Elsewhere, there could also be a few options in Spain.
