JAMIE CARRAGHER ISSUES 2-WORD RESPONSE AS JORDAN HENDERSON LEAVES LIVERPOOL FOR SAUDI ARABIA

Jamie Carragher has labelled Jordan Henderson a ‘Liverpool legend’ on his Instagram story after he confirmed his exit.

The now-departed Liverpool captain has joined Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq side in Saudi Arabia after 12 years of service to the Merseyside club – he posted a goodbye video message to fans on his Instagram

Defender-turned-pundit Carragher was still playing at Liverpool when a fresh-faced Jordan Henderson arrived from Sunderland in 2011, and now, via his Instagram story, he has called him a ‘Liverpool legend’ – but another pundit, who knows him ‘personally’, has been left ‘surprised’ by his exit.

At the halfway stage of the 33-year-old career at Anfield, you wouldn’t have put that label on him, nor did you think he would end up for it.

He went through some rough rides, including his struggles to perform alongside a certain Gerrard.

But once Gerrard left and Jurgen Klopp entered the building, it completely changed Henderson’s career to the point where he became the first captain in three decades to lift the title, not forgetting their Champions League triumph in Madrid

Henderson has rightfully earned that tag and his legacy will only grow as he enters the final stages of his career and then hangs up his boots for good.

It’s understandable why he has headed to Saudi, even though the hard-hitting midfielder could have still provided a lot to Klopp ahead of the forthcoming season – Fabrizio Romano has claimed that he has signed a three-year deal, as he posted on Twitter.

You could argue that the England international mirrored Klopp on the pitch, and that’s what the German is going to miss most about his former skipper.
