In the middle of the 1980s, Judith Durham, the beloved lead vocalist of the Seekers, resided in Kiamba, close to Yandina. It has been verified by multiple locals that she owned a home at the end of Hillcrest Road in Kiamba.

Locals have claimed on the Gazette’s Facebook page that the well-known musician wrote numerous songs and a book while residing in a secluded area of Kiamba.

“She owned land up Hillcrest Avenue in Kiamba… up Yandina’s back,” Susan stated. My land and house were on the same street. It’s still her original house. It is largely a rainforest and covers about 50 acres. Years ago, she sold it.
“I met her every week in Yandina,” Mark stated. She would visit her grandfather’s modest fruit stand beneath his home once a week.
“I have been lucky enough to find the song I composed when I lived on the Sunshine Coast with my late husband Ron Edgeworth,” Ms. Durham wrote in a letter in 2017. It was in the slopes above Yandina that we shared so many lovely memories. “Sunshine Coast, You I Love” is the name of the song, and I wish to record it some day
