Ikenna Alozie, a 5-star guard, is cut by Kentucky.

The final eight is reached by the Cats.
Here at A Sea of Blue, we have an editor named Ethan DeWitt. This offseason, the coaching staff of the Kentucky Wildcats has been working diligently to fill their big board for the class of 2026.
Mark Pope and his team are hoping to make some significant impressions in recruiting cycle from the high school ranks after a successful first recruiting class. We can now add another name to the list that the Cats are still making noise for, after gaining some firm ground with the acquisitions of Tyran Stokes, Jason Crowe, and others. The Cats were included in the top eight that 5-star guard Ikenna Alozie posted on Instagram on Tuesday night. Louisville, Kansas, Alabama, Houston, Arizona, Gonzaga, and Washington are also on the list.
A 6-foot-3, 190-pound combo guard from Glendale, Arizona, Alozie presently plays for Dream City Christian School as a high school basketball player. According to the 247 Sports Composite rankings, he is a 5-star prospect. He is ranked as the tenth best player in the class as well.
The fact that the Cats selected the gifted combo guard shows that Coach Pope and his team are still actively seeking new players. Mark Pope’s visit back in April suggests that this is a name we should keep a careful eye on moving forward.
