How Ronnie O’Sullivan became the first-ever £2MILLION man in snooker after…

If RONNIE O’SULLIVAN wins everything in sight over the next two months, he could become snooker’s first £2 million man.

This season, the 48-year-old Rocket has been in great form and has earned a record £1.142 million in prize money.

This included taking home the $250,000 winners’ checks from the UK Championship in York, the Masters in London, and the World Masters of Snooker in Saudi Arabia.

His total has surpassed the previous record of £1.01 million, which was set by Judd Trump in 2018–19 when he won the Crucible for the first time.

If he maintains his stellar performance on the board, there is a significant amount of money up for grabs.

The World Open is worth £170,000, the Tour Championship is worth £150,000, and if he wins eight times in a row in Sheffield, the prize money is £500,000.

If he wins all three and adds an additional £30,000 for the highest-break bonuses in the process, his total winnings from just eight months of play will approach £2 million.

O’Sullivan has run a cash-heavy campaign in 2018–19, with £922,000 in his bank account.

When you consider that the world No. 1 has withdrew from several competitions due to illness or, in the case of the Welsh Open last month, stage fright and anxiety, it is an amazing accomplishment.

Next Monday, the Essex potter will play Michael White of Wales in the opening round of the World Open in Yushan.
