Ryan Reynolds joins forces with FSG and Liverpool.
Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds will pair up with RedBird Capital Partners, a partner of Fenway Sports Group, to purchase a stake in a Formula One team.
Following the signing of a $750 million deal in March 2021, RedBird, led by founder, managing partner, and chief investment officer Gerry Cardinale, now owns 11% of Liverpool’s owners FSG. Since that time, the New York-based investment company has acquired a majority stake in both the American XFL professional football league and Serie A powerhouse AC Milan, thanks to a partnership with actor Dwayne Johnson.
In the near future, RedBird will collaborate with another well-known Hollywood figure on an investment transaction with Reynolds’ Maximum Effort Investments company, which also owns Wrexham FC.

Hollywood superstar Ryan Reynolds is to join forces with Fenway Sports Group partner RedBird Capital Partners in acquiring a stake in a Formula One team.
RedBird, led by founder, managing partner and chief investment officer Gerry Cardinale, own 11 per cent of Liverpool owners FSG following a $750m deal that was sealed in March 2021. Now, RedBird are set to partner with another well known face from Tinseltown on an investment deal with Reynolds’ Maximum Effort
The $218m investment is being led by RedBird and Otro Capital, a firm co-founded by RedBird partner Alec Scheiner, one of the key members of the team when it comes to sports investments with the firm. Scheiner will take a seat on the Alpine board as part of the deal.
Having endured a, somewhat, underwhelming campaign, it cannot be argued that Liverpool suffered from the absence of star attacker Sadio Mane following the Senegalese international’s move to Bayern Munich last summer

Although Mohammed Salah maintained his impeccable record in a red shirt, injuries to Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota prevented the duo from making season-long contributions, while the likes of Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo needed time to adapt to the rigours of Premier League football.
With Roberto Firmino having now departed Anfield upon the expiration of his contract, Jurgen Klopp could, undoubtedly, benefit from an attacking player of Mane’s credentials. After all, he netted double figures for goals in every campaign on Merseyside after joining from Southampton in the summer of 2016.
However, for a player that won every trophy on offer to him at Anfield, Mane’s stint in Bavaria has certainly not gone as all parties would have hoped.
