As the Boston Celtics made their way back from the NBA All-Star break, star center Kevin Kornet put on quite the show. “I thought about it at some point this year or last year,” Kornet told NBC Sports Boston’s Abby Chin on Saturday. “I wasn’t actively thinking about it when it happened in the game. It just happened and I thought, ‘Well, there’s no going back.’ Now it’s out there.” Bringing some elements of 2015 to the court, Kornet focused on the dab celebration in the Celtics’ victory over the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night.
Similar antics are nothing new for Kornet from his time with the Celtics, particularly after his “eclipse” style of contesting shots captured the hearts of the fans the previous season. It’s impossible to predict what the 28-year-old will celebrate with next as he grows.
