Former Arsenal player Kieran Gibbs has made a big claim about Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk.
Kieran Gibbs watched Mykhailo Mudryk in Chelsea‘s 4-0 win against Preston North End in the FA Cup over the weekend and told ESPN FC after the game that the 23-year-old is capable of creating the most chances in a Premier League season.
Mudryk’s end product is not always there. Last term, he failed to score for Chelsea at all following his big-money move from Shakhtar Donetsk.
However, the Ukrainian has been much better in the final third of late, netting a couple of important goals against Crystal Palace and Newcastle United. Still, looking at how much money Chelsea invested in him, there is a very long way to go.

Gibbs thinks Mudryk is actually capable of becoming the Premier League’s top creator.
Discussing the former Shakhtar man after Chelsea’s victory over Preston, the ESPN pundit said: “He’s so hard to stop over the first five, 10 yards. I mean, we saw it in the second half when he opens it out of his feet and just whips the ball in and no one got on the end of it in the end.
“But sometimes if you just simplify things and take things a bit more in your stride and don’t overthink it and don’t overcomplicate it, you can actually be a lot more effective. He’s got the capability of getting most chances created in a season easily.”
Mykhailo Mudryk still far off from the best
When it comes to chance creation, the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Bruno Fernandes are at the top.
Last season, they were in the top three for chances created in the Premier League, with the latter coming in at first after recording 119, as shown on the division’s official website.
Mudryk is nowhere near their level yet. He is a 23-year-old still settling into the English top flight.
The Ukraine international needs more time to adapt and develop into a more efficient footballer.
