The Duke Blue Devils had a remarkable 2024-25 campaign, even though they fell just short of their championship aspirations. They wrapped up the season with a 35-4 record, and were only a few key plays away from reaching the title game against Florida, falling to Houston in the Final Four.
A big part of Duke’s success was thanks to freshman sensation Cooper Flagg, who is widely expected to enter the NBA Draft and make waves at the next level.
While Flagg’s decision is still pending, another standout Blue Devil is officially heading to the pros. Guard Tyrese Proctor has declared for the 2025 NBA Draft. Duke honored him with a tribute on their official X account, posting: “League next. Duke forever.”
Proctor proved to be a dynamic backcourt presence, averaging 12.4 points per game while shooting an impressive 40.5% from three-point range. He became a reliable perimeter threat, both in catch-and-shoot scenarios and off the dribble — a big leap from his freshman season in 2022-23, when he shot just 32% from deep.
Standing at 6-foot-6, Proctor also brings value on the defensive end, averaging 0.8 steals per game. Originally from Sydney, Australia, Proctor is part of a growing wave of international talent making an impact in college basketball. He earned a scholarship to the NBA Global Academy in Canberra, setting the stage for his rise to stardom at Duke and, soon, the NBA.
