Duke Recruitment: Kara Lawson Achieves Success Once More

DURHAM, N.C. — Duke head coach Kara Lawson continues to strengthen the Blue Devils’ future, adding two standout players to the women’s basketball 2026 recruiting class.

Four-star center Taylor Sofilkanich committed earlier in the week, bringing size and interior presence to the class. On Sunday, Duke secured another major commitment: Sanai Green, a highly touted five-star point guard from Long Island Lutheran. Green chose Duke over programs such as North Carolina, USC, and Purdue.

While the evolving college basketball landscape—including the transfer portal—makes roster projections difficult, the commitments of Green and Sofilkanich underscore the program’s upward trajectory and potential in the years ahead.
