Duke basketball team 2025–2026: Tyrese Proctor declares for the NBA Draft, and Cooper Flagg’s NBA choice looms

One of the key offseason decisions Duke had been watching closely was whether guard Caleb Foster would return. A former four-star recruit from the 2023 class, Foster began the 2024-25 season as a starter before being moved to a bench role in favor of Sion James.

On Thursday, Foster announced that he’ll be back with the Blue Devils for the 2025-26 season.

His return comes just days after standout freshman Kon Knueppel officially entered the 2025 NBA Draft, becoming the first Duke player to declare. Shortly after, veteran guard Tyrese Proctor followed suit and also announced his decision to turn pro.

While Duke has yet to land any transfers, additions from the portal are expected soon. The attention now shifts to Cooper Flagg and Khaman Maluach, both expected to enter the draft before the April 26 deadline. Flagg remains the projected No. 1 overall pick.

As Jon Scheyer prepares for his fourth season at the helm, the Blue Devils face a number of roster questions. With Flagg, Knueppel, and Maluach likely headed to the NBA, and Sion James finishing his eligibility while Proctor goes pro, Duke could be in for another significant lineup shakeup.

Another player with a decision to make is Isaiah Evans, a former five-star recruit who came off the bench and averaged 7.0 points per game. CBS Sports continues to track the latest updates on Duke’s roster and recruiting class in real time. Here’s where things currently stand.
