Duke basketball is set to host four-starclass of 2026 recruit Sebastian Wilkins for an official visit next Monday. The 6’8″, 215-pound power forward is currently ranked No. 28 overall and No. 7 at his position in the 247Sports Composite for 2026. However, there’s a strong chance Wilkins will reclassify to the class of 2025 and begin his college career next season.
Wilkins plays at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, a prestigious Nike Elite high school program and the only one in New England with that designation. He recently received a scholarship offer from Duke and will visit the Durham campus as his recruitment heats up.
Should he reclassify, Wilkins could fill a critical need for the Blue Devils. With the entire starting five from the 2024-25 season departing, Duke’s frontcourt in particular needs reinforcements. Coach Jon Scheyer will return Caleb Foster, Isaiah Evans, Patrick Ngongba II, Maliq Brown, and Darren Harris, while stars like Cooper Flagg, Tyrese Proctor, Kon Knueppel, and Khaman Maluach are headed to the NBA Draft. Although Evans has declared for early draft entry, he is expected to return to Duke.
With a loaded backcourt and strong shooting and defensive depth, Duke’s main need lies in the frontcourt. Wilkins, a sought-after forward with offers from Duke, Maryland, Florida State, Boston College, Alabama, and others, could be a major addition. His growing connection with Duke increases the likelihood of him reclassifying to join the 2025 class.
The Blue Devils also just landed Washington State transfer Cedric Coward, adding more depth. They currently hold the No. 3 ranked 2025 recruiting class according to 247Sports, and securing Wilkins would further strengthen their frontcourt for next season.
