Duke reestablished itself as a national powerhouse during the 2024–25 season under third-year head coach Jon Scheyer, finishing with a dominant 35–4 overall record and a 19–1 mark in ACC play to secure the conference’s regular-season title.
The Blue Devils followed that up by winning the ACC Tournament and making a deep NCAA Tournament run, ultimately reaching their first Final Four since 2022.
That success was largely driven by a talented young core, but all five starters Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, Khaman Maluach, Tyrese Proctor, and Sion James have since either entered the professional ranks or moved on from the program.
Now looking to reload, especially on the perimeter, Duke has reportedly reached out to Kohl Rosario, a four-star prospect in the 2026 class, according to HS Top Recruiting on X.
Rosario is a 6’5″, 185-pound shooting guard from Moravian Prep in Hudson, North Carolina. He’s ranked No. 14 among shooting guards and No. 97 overall in the 247Sports Composite, as well as the No. 3 player in North Carolina. He made waves at Nike EYBL Session 2 with standout performances, scoring 28 points (including 6-of-8 from beyond the arc) in one game and 19 in another.
His performances on the spring circuit have caught the attention of several high-major programs, with schools like Tennessee, Baylor, BYU, South Carolina, and Florida State expressing interest.
Jon Scheyer has already assembled a strong incoming class featuring five-star Cameron Boozer, his twin brother Cayden, elite big man Iffy Ufochukwu, and recent four-star commit Dame Sarr. Adding Rosario would further bolster Duke’s reputation for developing top 100 talent.
