Curtis Jones & Liverpool target named in U21 Euros Team of the Tournament

Curtis Jones has been named in UEFA’s Team of the Tournament for the U-21 Euros, with rumoured Liverpool target and England teammate Levi Colwill also making the XI.

UEFA announced on their official website that the England pair had made it into the team, with six players from the Three Lions squad ultimately making it into the XI as Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon was named as the Player of the Tournament

Jones scored the winning goal for England in the final against Spain as the Liverpool midfielder stole the show for Lee Carsley’s side in the tournament, one that saw the home nation win every game and not concede a single goal thanks in part to Colwill.

Football London report that Liverpool are interested in the Chelsea defender as the Blues look to keep hold of Colwill, with the west London side already rejecting a £40m bid from Brighton & Hove Albion this summer for the 20-year-old defender.

Indeed, Colwill’s stock has risen considerably over the last 12 months, and with the centre-back making UEFA’s Team of the Tournament for the U-21 Euros alongside Jones, the Liverpool target might have added a few extra million to his asking price

Jones enjoyed the perfect summer with England having ended the season on a high with Liverpool. And for many fans and the club themself, they will be hopeful that the midfielder was talking to Colwill about the prospect of moving to Anfield.

With both players named in the Team of the Tournament, Colwill and Jones have the potential to become superstars in the game, and the pair could also become some of the best in Europe at Liverpool if the Reds are able to secure a deal for the Chelsea defender this summer.
