The Duke Blue Devils wrapped up a highly successful college basketball season under head coach Jon Scheyer, finishing with a 35-4 record. Scheyer guided the team to an ACC Tournament championship and a Final Four appearance, where they were ultimately eliminated by Houston.
Duke dominated throughout the year, picking up key victories over programs like Alabama, Arizona, Baylor, and Mount St. Mary’s.
Following his standout season, star freshman Cooper Flagg declared for the 2025 NBA Draft. While his performance on the court drew national attention, Duke also recognized Flagg’s excellence in the classroom.
The school announced that Flagg earned a spot on the 2024-25 All-ACC Academic Team, an honor given to student-athletes who maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA both for the prior semester and overall, and who participate in at least half of their team’s games.
Flagg’s mother, Kelly, shared her pride in the achievement by posting about it on her Instagram story.
In addition to his academic success, Flagg put up elite numbers on the court, leading Duke in all five major statistical categories. The former No. 1 recruit averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game.
He ended his freshman campaign by capturing two of college basketball’s top honors: the Naismith Player of the Year and the Wooden Award.
