Chelsea’s latest injury crisis takes its toll in every area of the team

Chelsea’s injury situation has been so bad for 2 years or more than we’ve almost got used to it.

It almost feels normal when we have half our first team out hurt, as is almost the case now..

Sky Sports did a little video feature on our situation where they pointed to the fact that, with the addition of Carney Chukwuemeka to the list following his knee surgery, the Blues are now up to 8 first team squad members sidelined.

Some of these are more serious than others – of course our third choice goalkeeper being out hutrs us less than having our club captain and best player out. But no matter where the player is in the hierarchy of his position, it all hurts our depth and flexibility.

We’ve currently got no alternative to Nico Jackson up top, we’re down to 3 centre backs from our starting 6, and both Christopher Nkunku and his backup at number 10 (Chukwuemeka) are out – as well as our best full back.

That’s damage in every part of the team, severely limiting Mauricio Pochettino’s options.
