Chelsea look set to land another signing as they close in on the capture of Romeo Lavia ahead of Liverpool, but the Reds have responded with a signing of their own.
Liverpool are on the cusp of sealing a deal for Japan international and Stuttgart midfielder Wataru Endo, parting ways with a fee of around €19million (£16.2m) to secure his services. Real Madrid’s Fede Valverde is also among those other midfielders reportedly being looked at, with Jurgen Klopp keen to add multiple new faces after losing Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.
Manchester United too may target new midfielders as their flaws were exposed on the opening weekend of the Premier League season and Sofyan Amrabat is among those on their radar. Ryan Gravenberch of Bayern Munich is also thought to favour a move to Old Trafford should he leave the Bavarians this summer.
However, Harry Maguire’s move to West Ham is no longer on the cards, with the England defender set to stay and fight for his place.
