Chelsea predicted XI vs Fulham… Mauricio Pochettino completely changes his system, recalls 21-year-old

Mauricio Pochettino is certainly going to be making some changes from the side who lost during the week in the EFL Cup semi-final first leg.

The Blues were beaten 1-0 by Middlesbrough, with the manager’s experiment of playing a false nine system clearly failing.

A plethora of injuries are continuing to plague the Blues as they look to finally climb up the Premier League table.

Here’s The Chelsea Chronicle’s predicted XI to face Fulham.

GK and Defence

Djordje Petrovic remains the only fit first team goalkeeper, and will continue his run of starts on Saturday.

Malo Gusto’s attacking threat has been clear to see since coming into the side, and wil start at right-back.

Next to him, Thiago Silva’s presence remains an absolute necessity at the heart of defence, and he will start again.

He will be partnered by Axel Disasi, who certainly needs a strong performance to change one or two opinions on him.

Levi Colwill will continue out of position on the left as part of an unchanged back four from the midweek defeat.

Midfield.

Moises Caicedo seemed to be a man on a mission in the week, and he will continue in the side this weekend.

He will be partnered by Enzo Fernandez, who perhaps could still be used better by the manager in a different system.

Ahead of those two, Cole Palmer will shift back into a role where he can get on the ball a lot more than he did in the week.

Attack

Noni Madueke was bright in spells during the week, and will continue his purple patch on the right of attack.

On the left, Raheem Sterling will be looking for a far better performance than the one he put in against Championship opposition.

Up front, Armando Broja will be brought back into the side to bring a more regular striker to the attack.
