Chelsea complete $37m Mauricio Pochettino transfer demand as six deals ‘confirmed

Chelsea is moving swiftly in the transfer market and isn’t taking long to get to work. After falling behind last year, Mauricio Pochettino and the club’s new recruitment directors were eager to get the window off to a strong start this time around.

Chelsea was left to fend for themselves over the summer, as opposed to Todd Boehly and company, who were held up a year ago after taking over, getting their feet under the table, and being shrouded by the fines from the UK government. They had already lost Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger before the preseason even began.

This year, there is no such justification because Pochettino decided to become the new head coach, and plans for the new manager were made as early as four weeks ago. His aim is to have a team in place with time to integrate any new additions, welcome back any loanees, and set new objectives before the trip to America next month.

Since becoming the interim manager, Frank Lampard has often spoken about declining standards at the training facility, but under Pochettino, no such concerns will be allowed to fester. He has a reputation for enforcing discipline inside his clubs and has done so in the past by banishing players when necessary.

The goal is to avoid things reaching this point this summer so that there is time to move on and finalize deals for at least 15 first-team stars who might be leaving. They are off to a quick start with a soft deadline for player sales at the end of June for accounting reasons.

Pochettino has not yet begun his duties as manager, a post he will assume in earnest on July 1. However, he has been preparing and will be working in a productive capacity during the first few weeks of the window. The advantages of lengthy discussions with the Argentine throughout have already begun to materialize.

Zakaria will return to Juventus before evaluating his options; Chelsea won’t activate the buy option clause.Mason Mount is also getting closer to leaving, in a more complicated agreement that is perhaps not all that startling. The 24-year-old has just over a year left on his contract and has been anticipated for a long time to make a decisive choice regarding his future.

With Chelsea willing to sell him should a new agreement not be reached, clubs have been snapping around for his signature for over one year. He now looks to have found that next destination with progress towards a move to Old Trafford and Manchester United being made quickly
