Chelsea are again considering moving for ‘extraordinary’ 27-year-old PL striker, he’ll cost over £40m

Chelsea are one of the sides interested in Ivan Toney, but Brentford remain adamant that any admirer is going to have to pay more than £40 million for the striker.

That is according to Miguel Delaney, writing in his Reading The Game column, who also notes that Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in signing the England international.

Ivan Toney, of course, is set for another few months on the sidelines after being suspended for breaching betting guidelines. It is a big blow for Thomas Frank’s side. But the ban surely increased the likelihood of him remaining at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Chelsea considering Toney move

However, there are sides still keen on the 27-year-old. Delaney notes in Reading The Game that both Chelsea and Tottenham are considering a move for Toney due to their respective striker issues.

It is not entirely clear whether they could make a move in this window. But the report does allude to the fact that Chelsea have spent a hefty sum already this summer.
